"In ancient times, at the threshold between this world and another, two souls would meet, their fates entwined. The visiting soul would become a Guardian Spirit, and those bonded to one would receive great knowledge and power..."
Nekton, the Shrine of Spirits, from the Baten Kaitos duology.
I was originally going to add younger Kalas and Fee watching a spirit/player woosh into the shrine, but... I like this as it is.
In the first game, the player is a Guardian Spirit (I guess the game implies you're electrocuted once you turn on your Gamecube and your soul is sucked into the console or something), and whenever you possess/leave a person, your leave/entrance is heralded by a shower of glowing cherry blossom petals. It's very pretty.
Wow. I miss this game so very much. Your picture reminds me of the very first time I played it. I loved looking at the spiral of cherry blossom petals- it made me feel as though I really was part of that world.
so, so pretty. The composition is great, and it's always hard to make a scenery-only picture interesting, but I was definitely drawn to this one. The colors are just fantastic.
